Ric-Man is seeking a Water and Sewer Foreman to join our construction team!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be dependable and have at least 2-3 years of underground utility construction experience
  • Must have extensive experience with reading and understanding construction plans for installation of water-sewer mains, services, tie-ins, dry utilities and restoration.
  • Supervise a 4-7-person crew
  • Familiarizing yourself and crew of job duties and safety for specific tasks
  • Verifying proper equipment and material is onsite, days in advance to perform work on hand and reporting back to superintendent and or project manager
  • Tracking and recording daily production of the crews on timesheets and reporting back to the superintendent and or project manager
  • Tracking and recording daily crews time worked and equipment used each day
  • Verifying locate tickets, markings and digging safely around existing utilities
  • Communicate with onsite subcontractors and/or owner PMs
  • Ensure job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use
  • Fitting and aligning pipes per plans using grade rods, transit levels, and pipe laser
  • Setup “Pipe Grade laser” per plans, specifications, and actual elevations to ensure gravity fed pipe is installed properly.
  • Cover pipes with dirt or other material
  • Maintain a safe work environment per OSHA standards
  • Prepare, documenting and understanding when Extra Work Orders are necessary
  • Have weekly safety meeting including Toolbox Talks
  • Prepare, documenting incident and utility damage reports
  • Work closely with Safety Manager to obtain all OSHA/Safety compliance documentation
  • Maintain and documenting a clean job site by ensuring all tools and equipment are picked up and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of water and sewer preventative maintenance
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions of the work
  • Ability to prepare clear, written reports and record keeping
  • Must be able to read and understand engineered drawings
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA- 30 certification
  • Confined Space and Trenching certification
  • a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Bending: Bending, stretching, and twisting are required during inspection of job site.
  • Crawling/Kneeling: Occasionally crawling to check equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.
  • Climbing: Ladder climbing is performed to enter/exit the equipment or machinery.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Tools, minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Sensory Demands: Suitable hearing, near and far sighted vision, and great spatial perception.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Shovel rock, dirt, or sand.
  • Using a saw to cut pipe material.
  • Manually maneuver and lay pipes.
  • Installing gaskets on pipes.
  • Installing T-Strip inside the pipes.
  • Seal joints inside the pipes.
  • Sanding/Re-surfing joints inside the pipes.
  • Climb in and out of excavations by ladder.
  • Manually carry materials including bags of concrete, lumber, plastic pipe, grates, castings.
  • Responsible for the care and storage of all tools they use and clean up.
  • Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
  • Ensures ground is prepped and grade trenches dug out for pipes.
  • Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue.
  • Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement.
  • Filling and sealing pipe trenches.

SKILLS

  • Ability to use power tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, push and pull a minimum of 80 pounds.
  • Able to respond quickly and willing to assist with any job duties asked by Foreman.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 10-hour Certification
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in all weather. 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Bending: Bending, stretching, and twisting are required.
  • Crawling/Kneeling: Occasionally crawling to check pipes for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.
  • Climbing: Ladder climbing is performed to enter/exit from excavations/trench.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Tools, minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Sensory Demands: Suitable hearing, near and far-sighted vision, and great spatial perception.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Heavy Equipment Operator include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, combos, dozers, trenchers safely and provide support to successful completion of the construction site.
  • Practice safety in your every move, estimating weights and distances, being fully aware of your surroundings, doing your part to minimize hazards and reporting any injuries or damage immediately.
  • Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and thoroughly fill voids using plans and/or a survey as a guidance.
  • Load and unload construction materials, waste, and other heavy objects from trucks and into dumpsters either manually or with the assistance of a machine.
  • Perform daily safety checks on oil, water, and fuel levels and inspect for leaks and any damage to the equipment before operation.
  • Responsible for written notification to supervisor and shop manager if the equipment needs to be repaired.
  • Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required: Hard hat – Safety glasses – Safety Vest and Gloves.
  • Use of the three-point contact method when entering and exiting off the elevated equipment, can help to significantly reduce the chance of a serious injury from a slip or fall.

SKILLS

  • Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination.
  • Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push and pull a minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Good communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 10 hours.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Bending: Bending, stretching, and twisting are required to reach the hand controls of machinery or during inspection of the equipment.
  • Bouncing: Vibrating, shaking, or jolting of the body transmitted through a supporting surface, in this case the heavy equipment seat when operating the machinery.
  • Crawling/Kneeling: Occasionally crawling to check equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.
  • Climbing: Ladder climbing is performed to enter/exit the equipment or machinery.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Minimal sedentary to light level of lifting is required occasionally, such as handheld personal belongings into the equipment/machinery cab.
  • Sensory Demands: Suitable hearing, near and far sighted vision must be at least 20/20, and great spatial perception.
  • Sitting: For long periods of time as the operator performs his/her duties.
  • Stopping: Operating heavy equipment causes your upper body to constantly move and react in a back and forth motion with sudden stops and starts.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Required when the employee operates equipment hand controls. Initial force to pull open/close the cab door influenced by the weather (up to 50 lbs.)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shoveling dirt, ground matter, and rocks; digging a trench.
  • Painting pipes.
  • Picking up materials around jobsites such as buckets, tools, cement.
  • Keeping jobsites clean, picking up debris, etc.
  • Flagging traffic when necessary.
  • Getting tools from the trucks for the crews.

SKILLS

  • Ability to use power tools.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push and pull a minimum of 20 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 10-hour Certification.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work in all weather.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Water Truck Operator include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate water truck to transport in a safe and appropriate manner to provide water for use on the construction site.
  • Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle before operation.
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor and shop manager if vehicle needs to be repaired.
  • Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required: Hard hat – Safety glasses – Safety Vest – Gloves.
  • Use the three-point contact method when entering and exiting the truck, can help to significantly reduce the chance of a serious injury from a slip or fall.
  • Fill truck tank with water.
  • Operate auxiliary pump on truck to pump water into work area to settle and compact dirt.
  • Spray water in designated areas.

SKILLS

  • Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination.
  • Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push and pull minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The minimum educational qualification required for a water truck driver job is a high school diploma or a G.E.D. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A class-A or B CDL is preferred. Prior over the road experience in commercial motor vehicles, a clean driving record and good communication skills are also important.
